DESCRIPTION:

Learn how to apply the principles of Ayurvedic cooking to your daily food preparation. Ayurvedic cooking is a mystery to many and simplicity to those who know its secrets. When food is prepared with due regard for the diner, greater nutritional value is imparted to the foods. Everyone can master these principles and bring greater nurturance to themselves and others through the foods they prepare and eat on a daily basis. By remaining present with the food preparation, the energy of the cook informs the quality of the meal; the food tastes better and greater balance is experienced by all. During this evening you will learn, via both lecture and demonstration: How our food choices impact our health;

  • How to recognize the sources of the six tastes and how these affect us
  • Ways to incorporate these six tastes in your meals
  • How to bring greater consciousness to your cooking preparation
  • Ways to infuse the food with greater life force energy
  • Specific techniques used to impart greater flavor to food and balance to meals, including spicing techniques and best spices for the season
  • Tips on dining for improvement of digestion and overall health
  • How to take these tips home and apply them to your meals

You will be receiving notes, recipes, menu suggestions, and samples of all foods prepared
